An Honored Racer
#18 Kenneth Mitcham
April, 30, 2007
We gather in honor of a lost companion,
fighting for freedoms race to the end.
Helping in faith with blessed wings,
racing now before angelic friends divine.
A heavenly track just waiting for his speed,
victories lanes lit with fine golden trophies.
Honored friendships this life he devoted,
a scorch of rubber on dirt tracks wide turns.
Not a day of darkness, but joyous light,
his race has given his wings full delight.
Bringing a peace within our hearts embrace,
a pleasure to have known this graceful soul.
Lining up now with others gone before him,
sweet glazed roads that are ever so golden.
A sweet smile upon his face, as Dale Earnhart,
shakes his hand, and says “Let’s Race“.
We will miss his wondrous passion,
as we look to see an empty place.
One day before long just remember,
that we will watch this heavenly race...
A loss our friends will feel with sadness,
as truth hits our hearts with a blunt force.
Praise God for his fire and passions burn,
for we will see him in each our own turn.
No difference in NASCAR or DIRT TRACK,
on heavens raceway of delight.
Just one large race for them all,
Standing to cheer his victory...!
In memory and dedication to Strong Arkansas, Kenneth Mitcham
#18 he will be terribly missed.
