Whiseant Makes Late Race Pass to Win AMP Topless 40

For Immediate Release

AMP Series
www.ampseries.com
501-920-2677

Alexander, Ark-- (August 10, 2008) The AMP Late Model Series rolled into Monticello
Speedway in Monticello, Arkansas on Saturday night, August 9th for the Smith Towing
Topless 40. 19 racers, and a stand full of fans would show up for this $200 to start, $3,000 to
win 40 lap race.

Ross Camponovo, Duke Whiseant , and Ronnie Adams would all three share heat race wins,
which would put Camponovo on the pole for the 40 lap feature event.

After the green flag dropped, Duke Whiseant would jump out to a early lead, but Jon Mitchell
came charging through to take the lead on lap 6, and would lead through lap 10 when
Wiseant passed Mitchell again. Mitchell would then take the lead back two laps later, a lead
he would hold for 22 laps until 6 laps to go in the race, when a late caution would help
Whiseant catch Mitchell, who had a straight-a-way lead on the field at the time.

As the field came out of the caution, Whiseant would use the high groove to get around
Mitchell for the lead. Mitchell would come powering back, passing Whiseant at the flag stand
as another caution would come out, putting Whiseant as the leader coming out of the
caution.

As the field went green again, Whiseant was able to hold Mitchell off for the victory.

"It was a good run for us tonight." stated Whiseant following the race. "We jumped out to the
early lead, and Mitchell was able to get around us, and for a while we thought he had it
wrapped up because lapped traffic helped him get a good lead, but a late caution helped us
catch him, and the high groove worked well enough for us to get the win tonight."

AMP Points leader Jon Mitchell also spoke about his 2nd place finish.

"I thought I about had it wrapped up." said Mitchell "I knew we was getting late into the race,
and I knew I had a good lead over Duke, then we had the late caution come out when our
tires had started going away, and he used the high groove really well and was able to get
around me. Duke is a great racer, and I am glad to see him win it."

Ronnie Adams and Ray Moore put on a show all night with side by side action for the 3rd and
4th positions.

"There was a time I thought we was gaining on Whiseant and Mitchell." said Adams "They
finally started pulling away, and we got into a rough patch of the track there in turns 3 and 4
with lapped traffic which held Ray and I both up, but all in all, it was a good race."

Alexander, ARK—August 05, 2008

The dog days of summer are here and with the temperatures rising, the AMP drivers are
planning on going topless at Monticello Speedway this Saturday night August 9th.

As race fans gather around the clay oval pumped for some sizzling racing action, the Super
Late Model Teams will remove their tops and battle for 40 laps with the winner taking home
$3000.00 payday, and the fans getting an up close and personal glimpse of the drivers in the
cockpit.

This embarks the second year for the Topless 40 event at Monticello for the AMP Series.
Last years winner Jon “Catman” Mitchell, found winners lane to his liking when he charged
40-Laps for a $2000.00 victory.  This year Barry Smith of Smith Recovery, Minden, LA has
graciously increased last year’s payday of $2000 to $3000.  Anyone of the AMP teams can be
considered “in the hunt” to take home the increased payday including Mitchell who will try
and hold on to the title and the cash.

This will be the AMP Series third visit back to the Speedway this season and racers look
forward to again giving the four wide salute of thanks to the many race fans that swarm the
Monticello Speedway to support them. Several race teams will be in hot pursuit for victory
lane while providing an outstanding show and another one you will not want to miss.
